Hearn: Joshua Must Fight Povetkin This Year; Wants It In the UK

If Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin win their specific battles Weekend evening, they’re predicted to fulfill sometime later this season, quite probably next.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s supporter, informed Sky Activities for a tale published to the network’s web page Friday that he wants Joshua-Povetkin to take position somewhere in the U. s. Empire. Povetkin’s handlers would like to take that high quality headline battle to Povetkin’s local European federation, but are more than available to Povetkin returning again to the UK to task Joshua.

Povetkin (33-1, 23 KOs) is the WBA’s compulsory opposition for Joshua, who sports activities IBF, IBO and WBA high quality tournament. “Joshua will have to battle Povetkin at some part of 2018,” Hearn informed Sky Activities. “Everything is about cash, but we can have a lot of cash in the UK. [Povetkin’s handlers have] created it obvious they would want to battle [in the UK]. The financing and support that was first there [in Russia] isn’t there any longer.”

Gilberto Mendoza, chief executive of the WBA, informed Sky Activities that a Joshua-Povetkin battle “should be” next for both fighters.

Mendoza included that Joshua could be provided an exemption to rebel his compulsory protection against Povetkin, but only for another headline marriage battle. Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs), internet websites the WBC headline, would be boxing’s only other identified high quality champ after the Joshua-Parker battle.

It seems to be unlikely that a much-anticipated Joshua-Wilder round would take position next, that creates the 38-year-old Povetkin probably the next challenger for Joshua.
